CivicInsight.uk is operated by Civic Insight Media Ltd., a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company no. 16184729). The company’s registered address is 22 Red Lion Square, 4th Floor, London WC1R 4QH, United Kingdom.
Ownership is held entirely within Civic Insight Media Ltd. No external shareholder, investor or parent organisation exercises editorial influence over the content published on CivicInsight.uk. The company’s structure ensures that editorial decisions remain independent of any commercial, political or personal interests. Funding Model
The site is funded through three revenue streams: advertising, commercial partnerships and clearly labelled sponsored content. Each source of income is managed transparently and never used to shape editorial coverage.
- Advertising – Display and classified advertisements are sold on a non‑exclusive basis. Advertisers have no involvement in editorial planning, story selection or the treatment of subjects.
- Commercial partnerships – We enter into commercial arrangements with third‑party organisations for services such as events, research or content syndication. These relationships are always disclosed, and partners have no say in editorial output.
- Sponsored content – Material that is paid for by an external sponsor is clearly and prominently labelled as “Sponsored” or “Paid Content” at the point of publication. Sponsored content is subject to the same fact‑checking and editorial standards as all other material, but is distinguished from independent journalism. Any sponsored content will state its origin and the sponsor’s name.
No income stream, current or planned, can influence editorial decisions. Our Editorial Policy sets out the safeguards that guarantee this separation.
Editorial Independence
All editorial content on CivicInsight.uk is produced and published without prior approval from any commercial partner, advertiser or external stakeholder. Editors and reporters exercise independent judgment on what to cover, how to source information and when to publish. Where a piece of content is produced in association with a commercial partner, it is always labelled as such, and the editorial team retains final say over its accuracy and fairness.
Our commitment to independence is underpinned by a formal governance structure. The Editor‑in‑Chief & Responsible Publisher, Rebecca Langford, holds overall editorial responsibility and is accountable for all publication decisions, editorial policy, source review, corrections, ethical guidelines and quality assurance. Governance and Accountability
Rebecca Langford (rebecca.langford@civicinsight.uk) is named as the Responsible Publisher under UK law. She approves the editorial policy, reviews sensitive content and ensures that the site adheres to the standards set out in our Sources & Standards page. Day‑to‑day editorial planning is managed by Samuel Hartley, Managing Editor. The Standards & Fact‑Checking Lead, Michael Trent, oversees verification and corrections processes, and the entire team follows the procedures described in our Corrections Policy and Fact‑Checking Policy.
